To lock and fit bushing, bearings, sleeves, pin hubs, pulleys, gears and other cylindrical parts. Increase the strength of press fit parts and retain loose fitting parts. Allow larger machining tolerances. Prevent fretting corrosion and loosening in the time, eliminate stress distortion by press and shrink fits. Seal against fluid leakage.
